Plain cardboard cartons move through a clean packaging warehouse, with a subtle colour ribbon suggesting a shared European brand identity.

Packaging distributor RAJAPACK UK has changed its name to RAJA UK, bringing the UK business under the same brand used by RAJA Group across Europe. The Bedfordshire-based supplier said it serves more than 43,000 UK businesses and has supplied the UK market since 1998.

RAJA Group was founded in France in 1954 by Rachel Marcovici and Janine Rocher, whose first names were combined to create the company name. The group now operates in 19 European countries. RAJA UK said the shared name gives customers one recognisable brand across those markets.

The RAJA name is drawn from the founders’ first names, a detail that connects the group’s history since 1954 with its current European identity. RAJA UK’s UK operation dates to 1998, so the rebrand combines a longer group history with an established local trading record.

UK leadership stresses continuity

Tom Rodda, managing director of RAJA UK, said the change affects the name rather than the service customers receive. He said customers still deal with the same people and have access to the same product range and next-day service. Rodda also linked the announcement to the approach of the peak trading period.

To support customers ahead of that period, RAJA UK has introduced a free Prepare for Peak tool. The company said the tool helps businesses estimate what their busiest weeks will cost their packing operation and what they could save. It is being made available ahead of Black Friday on 27 November.

Benchmarks combine retail and order data

The tool uses industry benchmarks that blend Office for National Statistics retail data with RAJA order data from 2023 to 2025. Users choose their industry to see how far order volumes typically rise at peak, then enter their own operating figures, such as the number of parcels handled per day and the number of people packing.

By combining sector-level benchmarks with company-specific inputs, the tool is designed to show how order levels and packing labour may scale during the busiest weeks. RAJA UK said the result is an illustrative estimate rather than a quote, meaning it is intended to frame potential peak costs rather than provide a binding price. The estimate therefore depends on the figures each user supplies, alongside the selected industry benchmark.

The rebrand and the planning tool are being presented together as the UK business enters its busiest season. The name change is intended to create a consistent identity across the group’s European footprint, while the tool addresses a practical planning question for packaging customers: how demand and labour requirements may change during peak.
