Mace Construct will trade under the name Forco from the new year, a change the UK contractor says gives the business a name that is short, impactful and easy to pronounce.

The company will continue trading as Mace Construct until then. The Forco name is to be introduced together with a new corporate strategy, which will be presented alongside productivity targets running through to 2030.

The renaming follows the separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two distinct businesses in March, under an agreement that Mace Consult would retain the Mace brand.

Leadership stresses continuity

Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said Mace Construct — soon to be Forco — had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward. He said the new name represented a commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030.

Reynolds said that although the name and brand were changing, the culture, values and people that had underpinned the business's success were not. Clients could expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last, he added.

The announcement did not set out further detail on the corporate strategy or the specific productivity targets that will accompany the change of name.
