BP Pulse has joined ChargeHub's Passport Hub roaming platform, bringing more than 850 charging points across over 95 locations in North America into the network, the two companies said.

The integration lets EV drivers locate, access and pay for charging at BP Pulse sites through the ChargeHub app. Those sites are also to become available to users of other e-mobility service providers (eMSPs) and automakers connected to Passport Hub, which means partner brands can offer access through connections they already hold rather than agreeing separate terms with the operator.

Passport Hub is ChargeHub's roaming platform, linking charging networks with mobility service providers and vehicle manufacturers. It is built so that drivers can use their existing apps and accounts across several networks instead of registering separately with each charge point operator.

The announcement did not specify how many of the 850-plus points are rapid or ultra-rapid chargers, nor whether every point is available through all Passport Hub partners.

Sujay Sharma, BP Pulse's vice president of EV charging in the US, said the partnership expands access to the bp pulse network through trusted roaming partners, and that charging networks working better together benefits the wider EV ecosystem and supports adoption.

ChargeHub chief executive Simon Ouellette said a network of bp pulse's scale choosing to connect through Passport Hub signals that the hub model has become the way roaming is handled in North America. Because the arrangement is hub-based, he added, the effect reaches past the ChargeHub app to the eMSPs and automakers in the ecosystem, which can now offer their drivers access to bp pulse fast chargers.

For BP Pulse, the agreement widens the reach of its North American infrastructure by opening it to more third-party platforms; for ChargeHub, it adds another network to its roaming ecosystem.
